Dogs Learning From Other Dogs

During the Primary Socialization period (check Your Puppy’s Development), a puppy begins to learn the species-specific behavior that make him a dog. This is an extremely important time when a puppy learns how to relate to other dogs.

It is very dangerous to have a well socialized dog with poor-to-no bite inhibition. Example: A sweet dog gets his tail accidentally stomped on. He reacts by biting down to the bone of the person standing closest. This is a dog who ends up at the pound.
